he is very young, I doubt he knows the waltz.

Actually, he strikes me more of a "mosh pit" kind of guy.

To answer your question, Id expect a little regression, and Id expect a little regression in Roy Oswalt too.

I see Latos as the next King Felix.

Even a regression to a 2.90 ERA and 1.10 Whip would be a 25% regression (numbers approx) and still would top Oswalt

Very, very few guys can maintain a 1.10WHIP year in and year out. To expect it from him next year is having very high expectations...can he do it through out his career, sure, he did it this year but I'm not going to expect a 1.10WHIP out of him as money in the bank. I can see the 2.90-3.20ERA pretty easily because of the home park and league but that 1.10WHIP is hard for me to "expect". With that said, I love the guy and have owned him all year long in my money league..drafted in the 19th round, #264 overall. $$$ ;-D

No love for Ian Desmond @ SS? I would rather have him I think than someone like Scutaro.

Hamilton gets hurt too much, made of glass-the Brian Westbrook of baseball...drop him down.

Kemp--overrated and streaky. Maybe he's not as good as we thought.

I really like Latos but I could never draft him as a top 10 SP. There's at least 15 guys who are far safer bets than Latos. I agree that he has the goods, but I need one more year to justify drafting him over the other names.

Anybody care to re-visit this Latos ranking now that he's hit the wall?

Last two starts: 5.1 IP, 16H, 13ER, 4BB... does a strong start tonight get him back on that pedestal? Or does another bad start confirm that he has indeed been overworked and is a confirmed red flag for 2011?

Assuming he's not "the next King Felix" for the next two weeks, I'm about 100% sure this guy isn't making my top 10SP next year.

Scherzer has been LIGHTS OUT since June 1, think he's top 5-6 overall for SP since then. I'd love to get him back on my teams next year.

Latos yesterday: 5IP, 3ER... entirely inconclusive.

Probably not all that constructive to derail a topic this broad just on one player... but I'm wondering where to define that point where Latos ceases to be viewed as a risk/liability and starts looking like a value based on bad publicity.

Obviously he's not in the top 10SP now for next year's rankings.
In the top 20 I still think he'd be taken by somebody else before I'm willing to take him.
But if he drops any further below that he starts looking awfully tempting as a candidate to pick-up for a potential hot start and then ship him out before you have to start worrying about inning-caps and/or injury risk. Something to keep an eye on... :-b
