Pick up Omar Infante? (WHIR)

Postby Bjorne Greece » Tue Aug 24, 2010 4:56 pm

I'm inclined not to do this but thought I'd look for opinions anyways.

Omar Infante is a bit of a hot name right now and I was thinking of picking him up. The player I would drop would be Bill Hall. I like Infante's eligibility as he is eligible all over the field and he has a great batting average. The problem I see is that with Cruz on the DL, Adam Dunn is my only other consistent source of OF power - particularly with Rios not hitting well since the all star break.

Opinions please. I'm thinking of sticking with what I have.

I'd prefer him over Hall for sure. He's on fire.

Even with the loss of power I'd be faced with?

In a 12-team league, guys like infante and hall are right on the borderline between rostered and FA fodder... Best to go with the hottest hand - infante - and continually watch to see how these kinds of guys do. If you had hall during his little power surge - great. If you hang onto him too long, you start to give the numbers back so to speak (not to mention missing out on someone else's hot streak.)
