I'm in a 15 team keeper roto league. We can keep up to 7 players in place of the original draft slot they were taken in. I will not finish in the money this year and am building for next year. I have been offered Adam Dunn (3), Carlos Santana (17), Youky (16), Brennan Boesch (10) and Madison Bumgarner (26), plus his 4th, 5th and 6th round draft picks next year in exchange for my Ryan Zimmerman (3), BJ Upton (19), Jon Lester (21), Ryan Doumit (6) and Francisco Cordero (8), plus my 14th, 15th and 30th round picks. I hate giving up Zim, Upton and Lester but Dunn, Santana and Youky plus the draft picks are awfully tempting. Do I pull the trigger? Draft round is listed behind each player. Cats are: Doubles and Triples, HRs, KOs, On Base %, Runs, RBIs, SBs, Slugging %, WHIP, Net Wins, Net Saves, Ks, HRs Allowed, Holds, ERA and Complete games.
Other players I'm considering keeping from my team minus Zim, Upton and Lester: A-Rod (1) - not likely Ryan Ludwick (4) Billingsley (10) Carlos Quentin (20) Cliff Lee (29) Dominic Brown (30)
Wow, that is quite a complex trade! I think I would do it although it pains me to lose Lester at such a great round value. That said, Santana and Youk are at very good values, Bumgarner could be a steal, and the 4th, 5th, and 6th round picks are very nice.
On value, I suppose it makes sense, with the draft pics coming back. Do you think you'd be able to replace guys like zimm and lester with those extra early picks? Can you contend next year? Lester and zimm are tough to swallow - they'd be your cornerstones if you don't do the deal...and they're on the young side themselves.
I'd only do it if you planned on a full-scale rebuild, with little chance of competing next year. Of your other potential keepers, I only really like bills, lee and brown... 4 is way too high for ludwick.
