Couple big trades - WHIR

Postby bigoz89 » Thu Aug 19, 2010 9:24 am

So I am trying to evaluate a couple trades. Are there any you wouldn't do? Which would you prefer? This is a dynasty league and I am playing for next year.

I give - I get

1a. Loney and Teheran for AGon
1b. Loney and Hellickson for AGon
2. Garza and Floyd for AGon
3a. Garza, Loney, Teheran for Prince and Sandoval
3b. Garza, Loney, Hellickson for Prince and Sandoval

I like 1b. Loney is consistent and Hellickson is going to be an ace. AGon is having a Blue Jay year that I don't see most of them keeping up.

I think you read it wrong! I give what is on the left, I get what is on the right.

In that case I'm not a big fan of any of the trades. Fielder and Sandoval are struggling, I think the entire league has found a whole in Pablo's swing, except the Giants hitting coach. And like I said AGon is having a career year and I don't see him matching this years numbers next year.

Of the listed options, I'd be most tempted to pull the trigger on 1b. Loney offers some consistency and speed for 1B, sure, but AGon has shown 40 HR power in a pitcher's park. That level of power is extremely valuable when not coupled with Adam Dunn's batting average.

I like 1A, but I only say that not having seen your roster. Can you post?

Its a weird league in that we have large rosters and start 2 players at every position, 6 OF, 6 SP and 4 RP. We have a 40 man roster which includes any prospects we pickup.

That said, I have a lot of young pitching (Kershaw, Hanson, Hamels, J. Garcia, Hellboy, Teheran among others).

Correct me if Im wrong, but I believe AGon is Adrian Gonzalez, not Alex. In that case, Id certainly swap Loney and Teheran for the proven big bat in Adrian. No doubt.
