Gardner or Pagan?

Postby PensSteelersBucs » Wed Aug 18, 2010 8:24 pm

I have Gardner and Pagan is available. Should I swap them? I'm not in any particular need for 1 category, although I know they are similar players. I also have Hill and Roberts who I sortof switch in and out based on matchups. Should I swap one of them for Pagan?

Depends completely on if you're in a keeper league and intend to keep either Gardner or Pagan next year. If it is I'd say grab Pagan. Gardner will not start in the Yankees OF next year, I suspect Carl Crawford will have his job. The Mets will shop Beltran or Francouer to make room for Pagan everyday next year. That being said Gardner has the job this year in a far better lineup so I'd hold on to him if you're just looking for this year.

wouldn't drop any of those for pagan this year--he may not start full time anyway. that said, one could argue that aaron hill is pretty droppable-that average is still not really climbing, but hes probably good to have given that broberts is getting frequent days off.

I'd ditch gardner for pagan for sure, keeper or not... He's been better, simple as that.
