Who to keep for my 10th keeper? This is a tough one

Postby Newkie » Wed Aug 18, 2010 8:20 pm

Hi, just need a little help on who to keep as my 10th keeper in a 10 manager, 10 keeper, H2H league with 6x6 scoring? Below is my roster, who should I keep as my 10th keeper. Keep in mind, I am already keeping 4 SP's and as much as I want to keep CBills or Wandy, I need to maybe keep a Beckham, Castro. And, its not out of this question to keep Brandon Webb. But hes a long shot. Who would you keep as that number 10?

Suzuki
Morneau
Phillips
Konerko
Polanco
Pena
Castro
Beckham
Cuddyear
Abreu
Granderson
Choo
Ellsbury
C.Lee
C.Carpenter
CC Sabathia
Greinke
Wandy Rodriguez
Pettite
C.Bills
Peniero
Webb

Me personally I keep Billingsley, but I could see Abreau even though I wouldn't

This is a good one. For me, I think I would go with Castro as you already have Phillips at 2b and your top 4 pitchers are stacked!

That said, I might actually keep Beckham/Bills over Granderson. I just don't like that guy. You could always try and trade some people to consolidate talent depending on what position you are in currently.

A little help with mine please? viewtopic.php?t=418503

i would take beckham, and i would also take castro over ellsbury...crazy, i know. ellsbury lives on the DL and has now reaggravated this same injury a third time...there's just no telling how much he really plays next year and i honestly hate to roster him because he just eats up roster/DL space. alternatively, you could try and trade him...i just think that with as many good young options as you have, its a shame to keep a likely injured guy over someone with potential like castro. keep in mind that castro is already hitting for great average from a shallow position, and he has the speed to put up great steals numbers once he learns how to get a decent jump, not to mention that his scouting report projects him to increase power over time so it wouldn't be out of line to expect 8-10 HR next year. you could also make an argument for keeping wandy or billingsley and then focusing on bats early in the draft--nothing wrong with having the top 5 in your rotation set and not having to worry about pitching until the middle rounds of the draft.

It is between Beckham and Castro to me and I'm leaning towards Castro.

Becks, bills and castro are my targets. I think I'd keep 2 and ditch granderson perhaps...

Here's my take:

1. Justin Morneau
2. Brandon Phillips
3. Jacoby Ellsbury
4. Shin-Soo Choo
5. Gordon Beckham
6. Starlin Castro
7. Zack Greinke
8. Cliff Lee
9. Chad Billingsley
10. Chris Carpenter or CC Sabathia (which ever you feel the best about in 2011)

It's possible Granderson goes 20/20 next year, but his K's continue to increase thus his BA continues to dive below .250. Yankee stadium hasn't increased his power any. What's the point?
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.
