Need to pick up a player... WHIR

Postby ryetoast93 » Mon Aug 16, 2010 11:15 am

I have an open slot on my roster that I would like to fill with an additional bench bat that will help me down the stretch. Im currently trying to make a deal that would send Kelly Johnson and an outfielder to the 3rd place team (I am in 2nd) for Weeks. Help please? Non keeper.

Heres the link to the free agent page. http://games.espn.go.com/flb/freeagency?leagueId=84615&teamId=4&slotCategoryGroup=1

Looks like there's a ton of speed available, but you've already got Crawford, Reyes, Victorino and Posed. If speed has been an issue, you can't go wrong with Pierre.

Looks like your biggest weakness is Aaron Hill at 2B, and I'd even consider replacing him with somebody like Beckham or Neil Walker.

For the best overall pickup. You can't go wrong with Luke Scott or Hunter Pence, but in my opinion, you should grab Chris Johnson. He has been ridiculous over the past month and you should ride it while you can.

lil' help

If you think you need speed Pierre, if you think you need power Ortiz, or just a safe, well-rounded bat, Chris Johnson or Marlon Byrd are good choices.

Help with mine?

Both of these are great advice. The players they mentioned can all produce.

And if you can get that upgrade to Weeks (what a sleeper he was) you'll be loving it.

Help?

Chris Johnson, Ryan Raburn, Jim Thome, Cody Ross (if he's healthy...can't remember) are all either hitting the ball really well right now or historically do in August and September.
