This bum has cost me a hundred bucks in sports bets and just inflated my ERA and WHIP for the week. I remember a year ago I always thought it was game over when this guy entered the game, but now it seems like he is not threatening. I can only assume Bard is taking over, but when? And what is the main reason that Papelbon has lost his success?

Paps is probably my least favourite player too. I don't even go to Boston games anymore in Toronto because I can't stand all the Sox fans going "Paps this" and "Paps that".

His numbers are still pretty good though. You could do much worse in fantasy.

And what is the main reason that Zito has lost his success?

But in all seriousness, a team could do a lot worse then Papelbon as their closer. He has 1 more year in arbitration so they'll likely keep him as their closer until end of next year and then move Bard into the closers role. I suppose they could try trading him this off-season but I don't think that's going to happen considering how thin they are in the bullpen.

He had just given up a go-ahead HR to Omir Santos in the top of the 9th and was pissed at a call on the field in the bottom half. I can't recall what it was at the moment. I enjoyed it, though.
