Trade too Lopsided?

Postby javens » Tue Aug 10, 2010 10:14 pm

Trade just got accepted today and its raising some eyebrows.

Buster Posey
Stephen Strasburg
Matt Kemp

for

Carl Crawford
Ryan Howard

The trade between a first place team (the team that would get Crawford and Howard) and a team that is in 6th place in a league that takes the top 4. The league is for $600.

No. There's enough value going both ways. I've seen a lot worse.

Do not judge a trade on "Would I make this trade?". Judge it on the merits of "Is this totally unfair?" == All trades do not have to be even. Someone always gets the advantage. This is not a veto trade.

If it's not a keeper, I'd veto. That is a Clown-Status trade. Especially when its publicly known Strasburg will be shut down to innings.

If this is a keeper league I don't think anyone bats an eyelid. Even in a re-draft league this is not veto-worthy. Considering Howard's ankle and declining power it's quite conceivable that the younger trio outperforms the veteran duo over the balance of the season.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.
