Chris Johnson ... anyone buying?

Postby Tony Micelli » Tue Aug 10, 2010 8:37 am

This guy has been on straight fire since the all star break. At first, I was very skeptical, but his numbers have caused me to take notice recently. And I realize he doesn't have the best minor league numbers or the most optimal K/bb walk ratio ... so, do any of you think he's for real and can sustain anything close to this kind of production for the duration of the season?

He is striking out a little over 20% of his Ab's and never showed too much power in the minors but I picked him up and just going with him as long as he hits like this. If/when he cools off I'll have no problem dropping him. I think he's a solid player but not the .350+ batter like he is now

just dealt him in my 14 team dynasty league for Alcides Escobar, just not a believer in the K/BB split. I think he will be "decent" and a .285-.290 hitter with decent pop but nothing that should be starting down the future. He's got a high BABIP and has been a career high BABIP so maybe thats the type of player he is but their also prone to long streaks so take it for what you will

He's definitely the first or second pick in the draft this year.

No problem I didn't think guys like him were that difficult to figure out but to each their own. Take Peterson if Favre comes back.

Call me crazy, but I like MJD to finish the end of the season at #1...
