Suzuki/Suzuki/Holliday/Stras for Rios/Utley/Wilson? WHIR!

Postby verb1999 » Sun Aug 08, 2010 7:48 pm

I've been in the middle of the pack for the most part this season, got up to 2nd place but am back down to 5th, and should be back up to 3rd or 4th after this week. It's a close, competitive league, so I'm not afraid to mix up my team, as it's been very up & down & unpredictable this year.

I have Alex Rios, Chase Utley & C.J. Wilson offered to me in exchange for Ichiro Suzuki, Kurt Suzuki, Matt Holliday & Stephen Strasburg.

What do you guys think?

I am going to need to drop a player tomorrow anyways to activate Stephen Strasburg. I would probably drop Kurt Suzuki. I hate letting go of Matt Holliday, but to get Utley in return would be killer come the playoffs. I figure Rios is one up on Ichiro? But Strasburg is lights out obviously, but a complete & total question mark. I was thinking since his DL stint has kept him off the mound, his IP total has been down & he'll likely pitch deeper into the year. Or so I was hoping, as an owner. Is it smart to sell him now do you guys think?

As always, I will help in return if you leave a link to a comprehendable post & leave me a legitimate response. Thanks!

No you have no reason for Utley with Cano.
If that were Rios/Longoria or Wright and Wilson then I might have a reason to do it.

Very true, but I thought he'd just add depth. And my offensive roster would look like this:

C: Posey
1B: Ortiz
2B: Cano
3B: Cantu
SS: Rollins
OF: Braun
OF: Rios
OF: Pence
Util: Utley
BN: Kendrick & Berkman

I guess I'm just a little worried about Ichiro trailing off as he typically does at the end of the year. And thought it'd be nice to have 2 1st round draft picks on my team (Braun & Utley). And with Strasburg being such a question mark, C.J. Wilson has been quite consistant, who knows when Strasburg will get shut down or have another injury. He's as fragile as an egg out there, they're definitely handling him with kid gloves.
