verlander for hughes/bruce

Postby Phillip » Sun Aug 08, 2010 6:07 pm

In a keeper, where I wouldn't be keeping either hughes or bruce and would not likely keep Verlander either. However, I am playing for this year, currently in 3rd in a head to head should I offer hughes AND bruce for verlander? 10 keepers (best guess has *)

C(2) - Soto, Molina
CI(3) - *Pujols, LaRoche, *Wright
MI(3) - *Andrus, *Phillips, Alexei, KJohnson
OF(5) - *JUpton, *McCutchen, *Dunn, Lind, Drew, Bruce
Util (1)
DL - Bay, *Howard

9 pitcher spots regardless
SP - *Lincecum, *Felix, Lilly, DeLaRosa, Shields, Garza, Nolasco, Hughes
RP - Wagner, Fuentes, Gregg, Gonzalez, Lidge

i'd fairly easily accept that offer. your OF isn't incredibly deep after Dunn, but i'm sure there are other options out there to replace Bruce. I think the loss would be worth it to upgrade at SP. i just can't stand owning Yankee pitchers in that stadium. the team wins games, and that's always a huge plus, but Hughes ERA and WHIP are finally coming up to where they should be. I think that trade will not only make your team better this year, but i'd probably consider keeping Verlander over Andrus. that would give you a killer rotation next year.

Yea I'd jump all over that. Hughes will be shut down, Verlander will help you in the 'chase' DO IT.

it sounds like the best thing for your team would be to make this trade.

I'll agree with everyone above, though Verlander's mediocre September killed my chances last year, when I was relying on him to be my ace :(

Well bud, let's just hope we're not saying "Shame on me" at the end of season, good luck.

I would say that I would make that trade in a heartbeat as well. Hughes is looking burnt out, Bruce is eh in my opinion and Verlander is a stud. Offer it up and take it.

thanks for your help with mine
