Axford. His historically terrible control (5-6BB/9 in the minors) will catch up with him.

This is great advice for a 5x5 league, but my league counts Holds. If he's not closing, Axford should be getting 8th inning duties.

This actually raises the question: if Axford is now a Holds candidate, am I better off just dropping Adams??

EDIT: I just checked, and it seems like the 3 teams chasing me down in the Holds category each have three players who can earn them Holds. I can't drop Axford, I need to drop either Marmol, K-Rod, or Cordero.

Okay, if you want us to choose among those three, I'd go with Cordero. He just seems to be the shakiest of those three and most likely to be on the "hot seat" - doesn't look like he IS on the hot seat right now, but the other appear to be more rock solid.

BTW, you might want to restart this thread as a new one - even after you clarified that you wouldn't ditch Axford, that was the main answer you got, so I don't think many people are seeing your update...

I would agree with Oatsdad. If you have to drop one of those three then Cordero will hurt you the most in ratios, but he is also on the best team, so will have the most sv opportunities. I also agree with several earlier posts that Axford may not be the greatest Holds pitcher in the world either. He is on the worst team, so least opportunities and his pedigree is the worst, plus who knows how he will react to sharing the job, he may implode. So even though you are thinking of keeping him as a 3rd holds option I would drop him over the other closers, but this in part depends on how you are doing in the saves category. If Saves are inconsequential then Cordero is your best bet, but if you need to stay competitive there then drop Axford.
