I'm in a roto league that counts Holds. So, unless one of my guys goes on the DL over the next couple of days, I need to drop a player to make room for Mike Adams.
He's actually coming back at just the right time, because I'm leading the league in Holds, but just by a couple, and almost every team in the league uses two Holds guys (Adams will be coming back to earn Holds with Benoit for me).
Since I'm on pace for just the right number of IP, and my offense seems pretty solid as is (I like having one offensive bench guy to rotate a cold hitter out of the lineup, which is right where I am now), I'll need to drop an RP for Mike Adams.
I'm making a push for the lead in K's in this league, so that category is important with this decision.
Who should I drop? K-Rod, Marmol, Cordero, or Axford?
TIA, leave a link for help!
Looking forward to back to back championships in 2011!
Problem here is that Marmol gets a huge number of K's. I'm currently 3rd in the league in K's, but I think I can really push this for first in the league.

This is great advice for a 5x5 league, but my league counts Holds. If he's not closing, Axford should be getting 8th inning duties.
This actually raises the question: if Axford is now a Holds candidate, am I better off just dropping Adams??
EDIT: I just checked, and it seems like the 3 teams chasing me down in the Holds category each have three players who can earn them Holds. I can't drop Axford, I need to drop either Marmol, K-Rod, or Cordero.

I would think that Axford is the first to go. Adams is on a better team and I think will get more Holds through rest of the year. If you are out of it in Saves and are willing to give up that cat. I would drop Cordero. His ERA, WHIP and BB are brutal. He also does not get 1/1 K/inn. like the other guys.
If you are not willing to give up on saves, drop Axford.
