I like it.

It's unknown what Ellsbury will really give you since he's been hurt for so long, and you'd probably just drop Montero anyway /if the deal was Ellsbury for McCann straight up.

What really makes this a sweet deal is the guy you can add to the team without dropping anybody, whether it be activating a guy off the DL or picking up a FA.

I'd actually stay put. Peripheral stats indicate Montero is one of the better hitting catchers in the league -- good plate discipline, doesn't swing and miss often, hits line drives. He would have been a huge breakout this year if injury hadn't taken him down. Keep him and Ellsbury, who can provide a lot of speed late in the season.

I wouldn't do this deal. Ellsbury is the best player in the deal the rest of the way.
