I am in a 20 team full keeper league with 15 player minor league rosters.
I have been offered Kurt Suzuki even up for Smoak. Right now my C is John Jaso and I don't have any long term C options in the minors.
I am out if it this year (middle of the pack) and am trying to put together a winner for next year and beyond. I just traded Ike Davis and Jose Tabata for Youklis to a first place team, so Youk is my 1B going forward.
I have Yonder Alonso, Kila Ka'aiahue and Brandon Belt as young 1B options behind Youk. Basically, I guess I'm asking what everyone thinks of Smoak long term. Is the really the next Tex or not?
Thanks in advance. Leave a link and I'll help in return.

While I think Smoak may eventually be good, its doubtful he is ever as good as Tex and you already have Youkilis, who when healthy is one of the top 1b. You also have some possible help in the minors. While I dont think Suzuki is anything special he'll probably have a bigger impact on your team than Smoak. You could see if you can do a bit better for Smoak, but if not Id make the trade.

Suzuki is a top 5 catcher
Smoak hasn't shown to be anything more then an Alex Gordon. You already have Tex.
ohh
and KU sucks

You need to upgrade at catcher, and Smoak is a long way off being better than Youkilis. It wouldn't really shock me if he never quite got it together at the big league level. I think your other prospects, especially Belt, are potentially better bets in the long term, so I would pull the trigger here.
I don't think the Rangers would have given him up in the Lee trade if they really thought he would be Tex standard

With your options now, I'd go for it.
