As I only have one OF (Abreu) among my 11 keepers, I'm looking to take an OF with my first selection in our draft. Carlos and Andruw went unprotected, who should I target?
(10TM Keeper...each owner has protected 8 vets and 3 rooks prior to the draft...we start 3 OF...7x7 roto regular 5 hitting cats...plus HITS & OPS)
(My other offensive keepers include ARod Helton Chavez Sexson Abreu Teixeira-(not OF elig) Reyes and Vic Martinez)
Thanks

I would go with Jones over Lee
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. -Crash Davis

Well this would have been easier last year w/Sheff's bat protecting Jones, but with Sheff gone, I like Lee in that lineup, plus I believe his average is higher with similiar power numbers.

jones will bat cleanup and with or without the super lineup he will put up great numbers. he's said before in spring training he knows he can hit for power and avgerage and will try to prove it this year. braves will not go from first to suck that quickly. go jones
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring. Rogers Hornsby

Jones 3 yr avg of HR/RBI is 35/100. Plus-he's still only 26! The question is the average. Can you take the beating there? Somewhere between 265-280 seems realistic, but you still have a 300 and 250 year in there in the past 4 years-don't think we'll see .300 again.
as to Lee. shhh. don't be talking about Carlos in here
i say he puts up better numbers than Abreu this year!

I would take Jones....
Why does everyone think he will go down in numbers? Shef is gone? So what.... He still has Furcal - Giles (both improving) - Chipper in front of him.... No Shef means more RBIs for Jones because Shef isnt taking them all and as for his Runs, I am sure that Drew can provide a few good hits even if he is injury prone...
This will be Jone's best year of his career just wait and see.
Remember no Shef mean more RBIs for Jones. He could get 130 this year and that isnt pushing it.....

if lee get the 15 or so SB's that he usually gets then he will be better. i dont really know what happened in 2002 when he only got one.
rotoworld has been speculating that drew will hit cleanup, at least against right handers. i dont know if that will be true or not.
