Keeper Team Questions...WHIR 100%

Postby theinflatinator91 » Fri Aug 06, 2010 10:04 am

Hey this is a 12 Team Keeper. I took over a team and this is what it looks like at this point. Basic 5x5 we keep 12 players (for as long as we want NO draft compensation).

Who would you keep right now? I boldfaced some guys those are people I am thinking about moving who should I target?

Also I had a trade earlier that would have sent Strasburg, Zobrist, and Stanton for Hanley and Prado but the guy said the only way to make this work was if I include Posey. If I can get him to add Kinsler instead of Prado would you do it?

C Buster Posey
1B Billy Butler
2B Gordon Beckham
3B David Wright
SS Starlin Castro
OF Justin Upton
OF B.J. Upton
OF Ryan Kalish
Util Mike Stanton
BN Ben Zobrist
BN Stephen Drew
BN Domonic Brown
BN J.P. Arencibia
DL Jason Bay

SP Yovani Gallardo
SP Brett Anderson
RP Joakim Soria
RP Jeremy Hellickson
P Ricky Nolasco
P Tommy Hanson
P Mat Latos
BN Edinson Vólquez
DL Stephen Strasburg

WHIR just please leave a link!

P.S. I'm currently "tanking" my season because next years draft will go in a non-snaking draft based on reverse standings (last place team has first pick).

I would try for Kinsler. Posey will hurt losing, but like you said in my thread, JP would help lessen the fall. Also, what does his team look like?

I like the team. Bolded is what I would keep. Gonna be real young, but really good in a couple years I think. Gotta try to get Hanley, but giving up both Strasburg and Posey is something I probably wouldn't do unless you get Kinsler in return. To me, bats are more important than arms, so push Strasburg first before Posey, but if he's stubborn about wanting Posey, be stubborn for Kinsler in return.

Thanks for the help on mine!

I Would also agree with chargerss24 with his keepers and assessment of the deal. if you stand pat, you will have a great team in a year or 2.

OK, I think Im going to nab HanRam. He just sent me an email stating he has interest in my Nolasco.

I sent him Zobrist, Strasburg, and Nolasco for his Hanley. It seems to be a little much but in a keeper acquiring Hanley it's worth it right? Plus I'm giving up this year and Stras would be the only guy I was keeping essentially making this deal Strasburg for Hanley. And Zobrist will lose SS eligibility.

You didn't lose much in acquiring Hanley. You have excellent depth in your young arms to replace Strasburg and Nolasco. You're going to have a great team in a couple years once your young players begin to bloom. Just be patient with them. You win this trade hands down. Nice job. ;-D

Nice job. As someone above said...losing Nolasco and Strasburg hurts, but with your depth, you should be alright. Hanley is a top tier player, and will turn your team into a contender for years.

thanks for your help
