anybody with any news on this guy? 2 catcher league intriguing (that just lost Santana). saw a blurb somewhere though that theh 31 HRs is misleading, apparently inflated HR #s in this league

Blue Jays purchased the contract of C J.P. Arencibia from Triple-A Las Vegas.

The 24-year-old top prospect has produced a ridiculous 31 home runs and and a .998 OPS in 379 at-bats with Triple-A Las Vegas this season. He'll get a real shot to shine in the big leagues while John Buck nurses a cut on his hand for the next two weeks, and he should do well with the opportunity. Arencibia is worth checking out in almost every mixed league.
