In general I used Swarmee's sheet as the basis of my picks but I did make adjustments for my strategy which was to go for scarce position players first. I think I have the strongest infield in my league and this will allow me to focus on tweaking outfielders and closers, which is my strength. I'll give you the draft results of last year's champion of my league for comparison. I think he has the edge on pitching but I should be able to take him in most of the batting stats. What do you think?

yeah man, your infield is outstanding, especially in a 13 person league. however that other guys pitching is much better than yours, and his offense is not too shabby either. though your lineup has the advantage, your lack of pitching depth makes his overall team stronger in my opinion, though his closers r certainly nothing to write home about. but hey, just one trade can swing all that into your favor. good luck.

I think my outfielders are my weakest link. Because I focused on securing scarce positions I had to take chances on risky outfielders or settle for below-average players. I think Matsui will have big year; Bradley could put up 5-tool numbers if he stays out of jail; and Gonzalez can regain his former glory if he stays healthy.

As for pitching, the other manager has the strongest staff in the league because he used up his early rounds on Mussina and Vazquez. Most of the other teams have a staff similar to mine but not the power infield. My only reservation is Pod. He's ranked pretty high on Swarmee's list but I think he might fall into the typical sophmore slump.

I definately like your team. I would agreeewith you that your pitching may not be the best, but I think Milton Bradley and Scott Posednik are great picks I think they will both have great years. many people over look these two guys...I think one move to get a one solid pitcher may be all you need..if Izzy comes through thsi year closing out games I think you will be ok
