Travis Wood passed his toughest test, a road matchup against the Brewers, with flying colors, picking up his first win along the way. Humorously enough, Wood has been dropped in 6 percent of the ESPN universe over the past week; they must not read this column! The offenders should pick him right back up, because he's a recommended play against the Pirates, a punching bag for most competent pitchers. Particularly impressive is that five of Wood's six starts have come on the road, yet he's still managed to strike out 27 batters in 31 2/3 road innings.
