Simple: Consolidate for better players. If nobody bites, play matchups. That's all you can do.

its just tough trading for a teams best player, and a hot 1 at that. great if you can do it but it doesn't happen that much. If he needs OF help that gives you a chance, but I'm not sure what package you could offer to get him off Votto. Check for teams that have a better 1st basemen than Pena at utility, meaning they could trade 1 and not have a huge hole at 1st base.Otherwise you'll have to give them Pena back & with him dinged right now that could be tougher

My other advice would be to stay on top of injuries at that position and try to leverage new injuries.

For example, Victorino was recently injured. Maybe your Victorino owner is open for a better replacement
that what is available on the WW.
