I never believed Andre Ethier was going to keep up his pace he had the first two months but ever since his finger injury he has hit TERRIBLE and not even worth a starting spot. But still for some reason I feel he could get hot again any week and I can't get myself to bench him. Is he struggling with injury, his swing, or is he just having a bad funk these past two months?

I'm thinking it's a combination of that hand injury and no protection. There's not a lot in that lineup that scares teams, especially with Manny out.

Regression to the mean? I mean he was batting almost .400 before he went on the DL. Ethier is a notoriously streaky player... he's just in a cold slump right now. I figure he has at least one more prolonged hot streak in him before the season is over though.

I agree he was going to regress but this regression hit him like a brick. Although, I did not know he was a notoriously streaky hitter, so that might be why.
