Oswalt trade...*WHIR*

Postby StealingHome » Fri Jul 30, 2010 12:11 pm

Someone in my league really wants Oswalt. He is open to trading some of his pitching. I have been looking at BB vs. K's and the remaining schedule for the rest of his staff. Where would you rank Oswalt among these? Who should I target? Do you like any of his pitchers more than Oswalt?

H2H, 5x5, non-keeper

Clayton Kershaw
Dan Haren
Johan Santana
Mat Latos
Matt Cain

Thanks. WHIR

I think Oswalt might struggle some in Citizen Bank Park. Just a hunch.

Rank as follows,

Latos
Kershaw
Oswalt
Cain
Santana
Haren

I mostly agree with this in that if you can get Kershaw, do it.

Personally, I like Oswalt better than any of those for the rest of this year. If it's a keeper... Kershaw and Latos are definitely winners. However, there seems to be a trend of keeping young pitchers' inning count low. I wouldn't do a 1-to-1 trade with this guy. Try to get a decent hitter as well, especially if he really wants Oswalt.

I appreciate the feedback. Looking at the rest of the season, Oswalt might have the easiest road, and his inning won't be held back. Maybe I should try and target Zimmerman or Vlad with maybe Latos (for example). Any trade suggestions on getting a hitter back?

I think Vlad and J.Santana might are great buy-lows. Not sure if Oswalt is worth both together, but you could throw in Ethier maybe, or Huff if you think he'll cool down.

Does anyone think this would get vetoed? Is this trade worth it?

Give up Oswalt-Eithier for Latos-Vlad.
