Agreed... the Twins bullpen has always been deep, I wonder who in their organization felt that this would be the piece that put them over the top for this season. I have a feeling it wasn't Gardenhire.
I don't think there's any question that they could have gotten more for Ramos if they shopped him harder (maybe even waiting until the winter meetings). I'm sure there was some consideration given to the fact that they have Mauer locked up long-term, and that Ramos has struggled this season... I guess it's possible that they felt his struggles were only going to continue and that they'd better get
something for him before he gets exposed. I'd have a hard time believing that though after all the hype earlier this season and after his AA season.
Good lord though... if Ramos pans out, the Nats future could be looking scary bright with Strasburg, Storen, Harper, and Ramos all being on the roster come 2012. Then again, Harper/Ramos could be complete busts too.
