Tejada to the Padres . The Orioles will acquire Wynn Pelzer, according to Dan Hayes of the North County Times and Connolly (Twitter links).

Pelzer is a really good pitcher with a very live fastball that has started in the minors but I think he projects better as an end of game reliever. Great deal for both teams.

Tejada has been garbage this year....is San Diego really that desperate for infield help?

Pelzer is either going to be a deadly closer or Edwin Jackson. He has two top pitches and nothing else.
I read somewhere ages ago that BOTH his slider and fastball were rated the best in the Padres organisation. :-L

Game changer right here fellas.

It sounds like the Padres plan on using Tejada in a platoon role, 3B/SS.
Apparently Adrian Gonzalez lobbied heavily for the Padres to pick him up, so maybe Miguel will see some sort of rebirth with all the love he is being shown.
