Blue Jays trade Wallace for Astros Gose

The Blue Jays will send Brett Wallace to Houston for Gose, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports on Twitter.

This seems weird to me as I thought Wallace was the future 1B in Toronto. I guess not.

im kind of mad the phillies didnt think of this before the oswalt trade. im sure the phils could have talked wade into taking another prospect other than gose.

Ok this makes no sense to me unless they plan on moving Lind/Snider into the 1B/DH spots in the near future...even then why trade a proven MiLB bat who is almost MLB ready for a 19 year old speedster with strikeout problems and a low stealing %. What am I missing here?

I'm starting to think there is a reason why teams keep trading Wallace. And also why the Jays didn't call him up when Overbay was hitting under .200 for 2 months.

So the BJ's essentially traded Michael Taylor for a player similar to him that is 2 or 3 years further behind him in development?

They were apparently really trying to get Grose in the Halladay deal, AA really likes him. I think Lind gets some time at 1B. AA was on the Fan590 this afternoon saying Lind walks around all day wearing a 1B glove.
