Not sure what there is to complain about. Cantu was a FA at the end of the year and the Marlins aren't playoff bound. The team saves 2M (no money exchanged?) and gets a solid RP'ing prospect.
Considering they do save some money and Cantu has been sucking lately, it's not too bad. But it gets tiring trading away for prospects all the time.

It feels better letting them walk for nothing?
Cantu was pretty mediocre all over. And maybe this 2M means that they don't have to trade Uggla or Nolasco.

I bet he goes the way of Shealy, Shelton, and Dan Johnson ...
I think he'll get one more chance, but I kind of doubt it will be the Rangers. This offseason is going to be very interesting for the Rangers and what they'll do with the 1b spot. Though there are no rumors yet, I wouldn't be all that surprised to see some infield position changes take place. Meaning, in an effort to keep Kinsler healthy, move him to 1b. Or, in an effort to improve the defense move Michael Young to 1b and away from 3b. Or, could even make some drastic changes and move MY to 2b AND Kinsler to 1b. Or, they could just stay put, it's really, really hard to say at this point.

After reading up some on the prospects, I am happy FLA gets a solid RP prospect. The bullpen has been terrible for FLA. Not sure about Poveda, but it's not like they need dire SP help.
