Cantu to the Rangers

The Marlins will obtain AA righties Evan Reed and Omar Poveda from the Rangers according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (via Twitter). The latter is on the disabled list, recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Might be a platoon situation with Davis.....hard to say. Cantu is another nice addition to Texas's lineup though.

Weird, Florida is letting Cantu hit right now against the Giants.
Odd if the trade has actually gone final.

And he got a single.

Really weird he's playing at this very moment, yet traded or an agreement for a trade has been reached. :-?

A really solid pick-up, especially because the Angels are in dire need of a bat as well.

Trading one of our more dependable (although not recently) bats for a couple of prospects and one of them is recovering from Tommy John surgery. I love the Marlins :-L

Not sure what there is to complain about. Cantu was a FA at the end of the year and the Marlins aren't playoff bound. The team saves 2M (no money exchanged?) and gets a solid RP'ing prospect.
