Yeah, I would asked for Happ, Singleton, and Domingo Santana

I imagine that would help a lot. Also, it's very possible he realized how good a team could be with Halladay, himself, and Hamels as a 1-2-3 punch at the top of your rotation.
Wow. JA Happ is pretty much Dallas Braden - LH, averages less then 90 mph, big K rates in minors don't translate to bigs.
1 1/2 years of Oswalt for 4 1/2 years of Dallas Braden II and 6 years of Wallace isn't completely horrible. Although Wallace as a 1B isn't that appealing. The Astros also save $12mil.
I'd give the Astros and Phillies pass marks for this trade, I think they both ended up with a decent result, and Toronto a huge FAIL.

wow. im shocked. i didnt realize gose had that much value. if i were the phillies id have already flipped gose for wallace a long time ago.
The Jays tried to talk the Phillies into including Gose over Taylor and they wouldn't do it..........AA also said today he'd of traded Wallace for Gose at any point this season, but the Phillies never had any interest in making such a swap.
Seems both the Blue Jays and Phillies scouting staffs were in agreement on Gose's upside, and Wallace's value.
