Hi,
Thanks in advance - I've always looked but this is my first question.
Roster:

IP, W, L, CG, SV, K, HLD, ERA WHIP
C - Carlos Santana
1B - Matt LaPorta
2B - Martin Prado
3B - David Wright
SS - Starlin Castro
OF - Justin Upton
OF - Carlos Gonzalez
OF - Shin-Soo Choo
UTL - Delmon Young
BN - Jose Tabata
DL - Justin Morneau
-------
SP - Felix Hernandez
SP - Phil Hughes
SP - Brett Anderson
SP - Kris Medlen
SP - Jason Vargas
SP - Ted Lilly
SP - Jason Hammel
SP - Vicente Padilla
RP - Carlos Marmol
RP - Matt Lindstrom
RP - Octavio Dotel
RP - Joel Hanrahan
I'm one of the few teams in my league that value all around offense over offensive power/starting pitching. Currently in 3rd overall and for the past 3 years have finished in the top 3. Every draft, only OF, 2B and RP are readily available, as owners hold on strong to SP and position players. I always keep 4 offensive players and 2 SPs, but the usual for managers is 3 each.
Pitching is killing me this year! I'm trying to target a young, currently elite-type SP to help for this season and later seasons. Owners of Josh Johnson, David Price and Jon Lester are talking but all are asking for David Wright + starting OF, which IMO is too much to give up. Because I can only keep 6, I'll be losing some young offensive talent during the off-season so I figure I can try to solve my pitching problem now while I have the trade bait.
Questions?
1) Should I even trade? If so, looking at my line up, what combination of players do you think are on par with one of the 3 pitchers I mentioned above?
2) Looking ahead, with or without the trade, who would you target for 6 keepers next year. My top 6 right now are: Morneau, Wright, Upton, Gonzalez, Hernandez, and Anderson, but ask me tomorrow and they'll be different.
I appreciate you reading and helping!
