First time keeper owner (15 yr redraft league vet - GO RICKY HENDERSON!) in a 1st year keeper league. We have 1, 2, and 3 yr contracts that go up $5 each year. I'm building for next year & have the following players off of free agency at $10 each. I'm new to the keeper game - are ANY of them worth keeping @ $15 in 2011?
LaPorta CLE
Stubbs CIN
Fowler COL
--------------
Volquez CIN
Cahill OAK
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BONUS QUESTION: Matt Wieters for $19 in 2011? $24 in 2012?

I am assuminig you start your auction with $300?
Then, no. None of those players are $15 imo. Maybe Volquez, but none of the hitters.
I am not sure Wieters is a $19 player next year, but I would rather have him at that price then any of the others at $15.

Matt Wieters is definitely worth $19 next year and $24 in 2012. But the rest of the guys listed really aren't.
Edinson Volquez has the best potential. Right now, I wouldn't say he's worth keeping for $15, but if he's already on your team, you don't have to decide until after the season. By season's end, if he puts up good numbers, he could be worth it. But with just two starts this season (1 great, 1 awful), it's too early to tell.
Help with mine?
