Hmmm...I might be tempted to do this. You help out your pitching, and open up a spot for Anderson to come back. Tulo will be very good for you if he comes back healthy (sounds like he is). So your needs are met.

However, you lose a lot of speed...are you okay with that? One suggestion I may have is replace Papelbon with someone with a little bit of speed to make up for your losses. Your RP look pretty good as is, and you may be better served getting maybe an infielder with some speed to lock down that IF spot until Utley returns, and then fill in at UTIL occasionally to give you a SB boost.

I think it's close, and you fill needs there...but I'm not a fan of Papelbon and I think you can do better in terms of a bat using Hanley as leverage.

Just my opinion though.

I don't know. It seems like a fair deal. I'm not that impressed with Paps or CC. Tulo is pretty close, IMO to Hanley by himself, so I think I'd have to make the trade. You still have decent speed. I'd then try and trade maybe Anderson, for a better OF than Headley.

This trade isn't without risk, as we are unsure of what Tulo might look like when he comes back. However, I'd still go ahead and do this trade, as if he is, you get a big bump in your starting pitching.

Thanks for all the help. What if I replaced Paplebon with Carlos Gonzalez?

Was also offered Jeter/Halladay/Bell for Hanley/Headley. I would then cut Beimel but would then need to cut someone else for Anderson (was going to cut Beimel for Anderson)

Thats a very tempting deal. I would do the Carlos Gonzalez in a second if he replaced Papelbon with him.
