Help with Trade WHIR

Postby panjam » Mon Jul 26, 2010 12:20 am

Trade:

Give up: Pedro Alvarez, Madison Bumgarner
Receive: Liriano

I'm in a 10 team H2H keeper league (8 keepers). Here is my current roster for reference:

Joe Mauer (k)
Joey Votto(k)
Dustin Pedroia (k)
David Wright (k)
Derek Jeter (k)
Adam Jones
Nick Markakis
B.J. Upton
Jose Bautista
Pedro Alvarez

Ubaldo Jiminez (k)
Mat Latos (k)
Jered Weaver (k)
Clay Buckholz
Jose Valverde
Leo Nunez
Madison Bumgarner
Ricky Nolasco
Carl Pavano
James Shields
Jair Jurjens

Is this a good trade for my team. If not, is there another combination of players that I could counter with? Thanks.

I would do the trade. Kershaw would need to be a keeper though, and is a better one right now than the three players you'd send packing. Bumgartner has looked great so far, but Kershaw can be an ace for years to come.

Keep Kershaw over Jeter and make this deal. You wouldn't be keeping any of the three you're dealing and Kershaw is a stud. The kid is what? 22?

I'm in the minority here, but I wouldn't do that one. I think you have enough good pitchers (I think Nolasco might be better than Kershaw by the end of the year anyway) and Alvarez is already looking like a stud.
