Not a terrible place i think for Haren owners. Of course, we would've liked to see Haren stay in the NL, but the AL West is arguably much easier than the NL West. The A's and Mariners are sad, and playing in Arlington is close to playing in Colorado which he did in the NL West. FWIW, according to Razzball, the Angels do not go to Arlington for the rest of the season except the last weekend of the season when most fantasy leagues are complete. As its been stated, outstanding trade for the Halos. Haren/Weaver/Santana is going to be a hard 1-2-3 combo to beat if Haren can turn around his season by going back to his home state. Although he still has the 2nd half flop tag on him as he has not had an ERA lower than 4 post all-star break since his breakout 2005 season.

Very tough as a guy like Jayson Werth could be traded to the AL and he is arguably a better pickup than Haren would be due to his struggles this season so far and his annual 2nd half struggles. I would pull the trigger on Haren though just because we don't know for sure if Werth is going to be traded, and if he is, we can't be sure it is an AL team.

I would grab Haren. As much as Werth would be a better pickup, I would take the guarantee of Haren over the possibility of Werth.
this trade was so lop-sided, the emergency response system broadcast the sound of a rape whistle and instructed me to check my local message board for more details

He was killing me over the last month or two, and to be quite honest, i'm glad he is out of the friggin division. Now if only Sabean would send Lincecumbutnutt to the Orioles or something ..
go padres!
Owning Haren this year has been god awful. If I were also in a NL only, having to dump him without actually dumping him would be a relief.
Dan Haren left Monday's game in the fifth inning after being hit in the right arm by a Kevin Youkilis liner. Haren will probably go in for X-rays to see if there's a break or just a bad bruise. A DL stint is a definite possibility here. Haren allowed two runs in 4 2/3 innings before departing.

ROTOWORLD Joe Saunders believes he is as good as Dan Haren. No, seriously. He said that. Stop snickering. "I feel that I'm just as good as Haren," Saunders said after allowing two runs over seven innings Thursday in his first start for Arizona. "You know, Haren's a top-of-the-rotation pitcher. I want to step in and do well for my new organization, regardless of what the fans say. If they feel they didn't get much for Haren, I'm here to prove them otherwise." The 30-year-old Saunders has one full season under his belt with an ERA below 4.44, Haren was 73-52 with a 3.48 ERA from 2005-2009. Oh Joe, if wishing only made it so.
