Kind of a follow up from an earlier topic I made except now I'm just dealing Thornton.
Wondering what the trade value is for an expiring contract Matt Thornton. Basically looking to rebuild since my team is in last place this year so looking for prospects/long-term help. The offers I've been getting haven't really been that good, so would getting back a Nate Schierholtz or Justin Maxwell seem like enough value or should I ask for more?
Ok, so have two deals on table, which is better one?
Thornton for Travis d'Arnaud, catching prospect. Certainly best trade in terms of talent, but already have McCann, John Jaso, and Jason Castro, so kind of hesistant to get another catcher.
Thornton for Nate Schierholtz and Jeff Manship Schierholtz has limited upside but fills roster spot for a couple years and Manship will probably become solid middle reliever.
