I send Rios, Weaver, and Cain for Lincecum, Halladay, and Carpenter.
My logic is that Lincecum, Carpenter, and Halladay are "buy low's" - Lincecum and Carpenter are down this year compared to last, and Halladay isn't getting the run support, but I know that argument isn't exactly water tight.
I'm also afraid Cain and Weaver are both going to drop off a bit over the second half (Weaver especially hasn't traditionally done as well in the 2nd half and he's drawing tough pitching matchups), and although Rios has been a great pick up this year, I think I could stand to lose him in my OF and still stay afloat with Ethier, Victorino, Hunter, and Gardner.
I also have some big bats waiting to come off the DL (Morneau, Utley, and Tulo), but my pitching could be a bit better, and this would obviously be an upgrade. Thanks for your help, drop me a link and I'll return the favor!
I would probably take this deal mostly because i think weaver, rios, and cain will all drop off a little bit the rest of the way. Also since you can stand to lose rios makes things even better. Lincecum, Halladay, Carpenter will get you a ton of K's and should get you a good amount of W's along with a good ERA. I say do it!
Oh yeah, I definitely do that deal! You'll be fine with the hitting and that pitching trio is great, even if Lincecum and Carp are down a little compared to the recent past (inevitable, given how awesome they had been).
You will easily be getting two of the three best pitchers in the majors with carpenter being like 5 or 6, arguably. Cain is definitely replaceable with Carpenter, Weaver is replaceable with Halladay, and of course you are getting Lince which isn't a bad pickup for Rios. Id definitely do it...
I'm taking this without thinking twice. Lincecum and Halladay were the top two pitchers drafted and Carpenter is incredibly solid. You give up a couple of slightly overperforming pitchers this year and an overperforming outfielder. Definitely take this.
