Have held him all season but I'm rarely playing him. Definitely a bust but do I cut him loose? I already have Carlos Lee on my bench, another bust, but at least I'm starting CLee against lefties. Bay doesn't have any value at all right now.
Not that there's anyone specific on the waiver wire I want. I'm considering Travis Snider, coming back soon. Morgan is available but I already have Pods. I could speculate on an SP or closer.
Yeah Bay's playing in a pitchers park, but his OPS is higher at home. Don't want to give up on Bay who's had great seasons in the past, but I also don't want to hang on to a slug all year either. Any reason to believe he'll turn it around?
If there is no one on the wire that really sparkles then might as well keep Bay and hope for an improvment for the rest of the season. Try moving him, I'm sure someone would want him just on name alone.

I totally agree. I have been struggling with what to do with Bay as well, but with no clearly better options to fill needs, I have just kept him around in hopes of a resurgence. On the other hand, if someone were to show up on the WW who I clearly could use, I'd have no qualms about dropping him.
I have to agree with the posters above ... Bay has been pretty awful .. but I couldn't drop him outright at this point, either. I'd wait like another two weeks .. and if he still is continuing at this pace or even gets worse ..then I'd seriously consider dropping him.
uhm i'd have to see your roster to give you the best advice, but by and large, i'd consider jason bay a lost cause for this year... one can only hope that he's akin to david wright and year 2 in that giant field works out better for him, as david wright seems to have found his power groove again, even tho he, like the mets as a whole, has slowed down to a grinding halt in the last month. still, david wright should be back to at least 25HR you'd hope/assume/figure...
as for bay, well, i think an eclectic combination of the ballpark and not being at fenway coupled with the mets giving yet another ~31-32 year old dude a 4-5 year big money contract is going to be a recipe for disaster.
we shall see tho.... i doubt he's going to bust out and have a ~8HR month for either of these last two months, but hey, stranger things have happened
so what do you guys think now? drop or still keep?
(Note: I have a pretty crowded outfield as it is. and it will only get more crowded when Howard gets back from the DL and I move L. Scott from 1B to the OF or Utility role)
