Trade BJ Upton and Dotel for Jimmy Rollins? WHIR

Postby acertijo » Sat Jul 24, 2010 1:03 am

Hey all -

I'm in second place in a 10 team, H2H, standard categories league. Been offered Jimmy Rollins for BJ Upton and Octavio Dotel. Pretty solid for the playoffs.

I'm pretty set for RPs (also have Valverde, Feliz, Lindstrom, and Axford) and my OF is decent without BJ (Braun, Justin Upton, Swisher, Carlos Lee). I have Jeter at SS, so I don't have a big need for Rollins, but he's got a strong second half history and BJ has been lame too lately and Dotel might get traded. I also have to clear some space to activate Brett Anderson, so a 2 for 1 makes sense for me. Rollins could be possibly be a good UTIL player if he starts hitting.

What do you all think? Leave a link and I'll help in return!

I would do it too. Rollins numbers will get better .. Definitely better then Upton's at the end of the year.

I actually just straight up dropped bj upton in my deep 10 team H2H. I couldn't handle the weak OPS and Avg. Much more consistent guys available on my FA.

And Dotel is probably going to be traded soon .. and who knows if he's going to close or not .. probably not, in my opinion.

Help me out man?

I would do it. You have a solid OF without Upton and Rollins should start putting up better numbers. The Phillies offense will get rolling.

I would definitely do it. I see no sign of B.J. turning it around whereas I think Rollins is still getting his timing back and will get better in the last two months. I do like Dotel but I agree you are fine in the bullpen without him.

This then puts you in a position to add another piece by trading one of your SS's, both of whom would command a stud in return.

Thanks for help on mine.

I would do it as well. One thing no ones mentioned is that Jeter hasn't been lighting it up. Rollins is insurance for Jeter, and may even wind up outproducing him. Upton is not getting the job done and Rollins will probably help you out a lot more. You don't need Dotel with that bullpen so move him for value.

im liking what people here are saying about Rollins...

I would do this too, Rollins is more of a name than upton and dotel. if you choose to you could probably move him easier than Upton.

help me with mine?

Do this trade...you can live without Dotel and Upton. Rollins could be key later in the season.
