Return to Draft, Trade, Keeper and Waivers Questions

I was offered a trade yesterday - my Miguel Cabrera for his Mark Teixeira and Jon Garland... maybe I don't need help. I'm thinking "no" but wanted to get a few outside opinions and make sure I'm not passing up a decent deal. I keep wondering if Miggy can keep this up for the rest of the year and stay out of his own way. The cutting out of alcohol gives me some hope.

I would not do it. Cabrera could potentially win the triple crown. Garland is just a throw in, and a decent pitcher at best. Stick with Miggy Cabrera.

I disagree. Cabrera could win the Triple Crown for the entire year, but Tex could win it the second half of the year.
I'd rather have Miggy but it's close. Depends on who Garland replaces. Always think of a 2-for-1 deal as a 2-for-2 because someone needs to be dropped (or added, from the other side).

I agree with this, true Tex might be 2nd half monster due to the poor first where as Miggy will be steady, I see more power from Tex in the 2nd, but garland is the wildcard here and who would he replace, IMO I wouldn't want him, his wins are okay until SD starts to slow down, his ERA is okay but he does have a high WHIP which could lead to a 2nd half implosion.

What if instead of Garland it was Roy Oswalt... just throwing that out there. I could counter with that and see if the owner bites, if it would be the right play.

If you can get Oswalt, then I would without a doubt do that trade.

I have a similiar offer on the table and am highly considering it. I think I would do it with Oswalt if I was you. I think Cabrera and Tex but up similiar numbers and the addition of Oswalt can only help. Not sure if you need the pitching or not.

If you can get Oswalt and Tex, Id do it. If its Garland and Tex, Id still probably do it. As someone said above, M-Cab might win the triple crown but Tex will very likely have the biggest second half out of the two
