Neither Dunn nor Votto can be kept ... should I do this to bolster my 1B and clear roster space for my returning DL guys?

You should definitely do this trade in a keeper league. I think both Dunn and Garcia are sell high candidates (Dunn is hitting above his career average and Garcia could have his innings limited at some point). Votto is also tearing it up...

Thanks for your reply....

I think you should pull the trigger too! Votto is killing it and i think Dunn's numbers wont be as good as Vottos

Dunn is sporting a .365 BABIP this season versus a .297 career BABIP. Votto has a .346 BABIP this season versus a career .348 BABIP. Which suggests Dunn's average will likely fall considerably in the second half while Votto seems capable of maintaining his.

Bottom line, Votto is a extremely well rounded power hitter. Dunn would probably give you a few more HRs, but Votto going to give you better ratios. It's a shame you won't be able to keep him beyond this year but that fact is probably the only reason he's available. He's one of the games best hitters and to only have to throw in Jaime Garcia to make it happen is well worth it.
