Does anyone see him as a decent option even with the injury risk? and he always seems to have those BIG explosions that you hate to see pitchers do....
Hopefully he has another good start...I might really consider trading him as his value would be high.
Right now, I dont feel that he is an injury risk, but more of a consistency risk. He had a great first half in his breakout year, but his second half was pretty poor. Might have been due to a tired arm. If that is the case, then hes got one hell of a fresh arm with a nice new (bigger) ligament. At any rate, it is completely possible he puts up ace numbers the rest of the way, but I'm keeping an eye on him and would jump on an opportunity to trade him as a package for a more proven/consistent starter that's had success this year.

It'll probably be too late then. Might as well drop your worst player and leave him on your bench if you're really that apprehensive about starting him against the Nats his next time out.
Rocinante2: you know Rocinante2: its easy to dismiss the orioles as a bad team ofanrex: go on Rocinante2: i'm done Rocinante2: lmao

He is pretty much a must own right now. He is absolutely free and his ceiling is so much higher than anybody that will be available for free. It's a deal you can't lose. Just let him sit on your bench. I'm shocked he is available even after his last start.

Speaking of which, what is his ceiling. For some reason I'm not too familiar with Volquez. I know he had a GREAT first half in 2008 and he has high strike-out potential but that's about all I know.
And wouldn't being in Cincinnati limit that potential a little bit, would he be more of a starter you play more on away games?
