My Ethier, Strasburg, and Medlen for his Verlander and Cain

I am currently in second place. I have a top 3 offense in the league but my ERA and WHIP are towards the bottom. I have a 4 in both ERA and WHIP and a 6 in wins. What do you guys think about this trade for me?

Pass. Cain's numbers are bound to come down to earth, although he is still a good pitcher and Verlander is good but not great. Strasburg is better than both of them, and Ethier is still a valuable OFer, despite his recent struggles.

Don't quite know how with Strasburg, Wainwright and Oswalt your ERA and WHIP could be so low but I would pass on this trade if I were you. If this was H2H it would be a different story.

Seriously?? Umm, I'll have to respectfully disagree with the above posters. Strasburg is on a strict innings limit, at which time he will be shut down for the rest of the year (I believe that's gonna happen sometime in early September, but you might want to double check on that). Medlen...ehh, take it or leave it.

Cain's numbers coming back down to earth?? That dude's been fairly consistent his entire time in the majors, aside from a few growing pains early in his career. Verlander is quite simply the shiznit. I've been lucky enough to draft him the past two years & dude's been an absolute anchor on my pitching staff. You would see immediate improvement in your ERA & WHIP by adding those two.

If you're confident letting go of Ethier without suffering much of a setback on offense (seems like you could easily replace his numbers by platooning Cuddyer with S. Rod/Patterson based on matchups), then I would go for it. Personally, I would do this deal in a heartbeat.

If you take medlen out I would do it. Hes not giving you enough for strasburg, medlen, and ethier. Medlen will also help with your ERA/WHIP if you keep him.

as long as this is not a keeper league u make this trade, more than halfway thru the season you have to start preparing for the playoffs, nd strasburg isnt gonna give u many starts if any because of the innings limit, ethiers avg has begun returning but it still could be some more time b4 his power gets there, i say u gotta go for this one
