I traded Buster Posey and Matt Capps for Joe Mauer.
My thought process is that I believe Capps gets dealt to a non-closing situation. Posey at some point will run out of steam and that Mauer, even if I do not expect him to be his usual MVP-self, will still improve upon his current numbers. What do you guys think?

How do you plan on winning saves with 1 closer? Also I dont think Joe Mauer is going to the top 20 player he was last year. Not a bad trade but I wouldnt lose out on a category for a slight upgrade at catcher.

The move is kind of risky going down to one closer...depends on what is available on the ww as you now have an open slot to fill in the 2 for 1 deal. Hopefully Mauer's #'s go up in the 2nd half to make it a good deal for you.

I think this is a great move for you. Like you said Capps most likely doesn't even have much time left get save chances, so when that happens you'll probably end up dropping him anyway. So you basically turned the rest of Posey's rookie season into last years MVP. Even if Mauer doesn't return to what he was last year, which it will be hard to do, I think this is a great move.
