Trading Lincecum. WHIR

Postby TheSmuggler » Wed Jul 14, 2010 1:45 pm

I was offered a trade in a keeper league where we keep six players each year.
It's a 6x6 roto league (including on base percentage and quality starts).

I would give up Tim Linececum and Juan Pierre
I would get Robinson Cano, Derek Jeter, Aubrey Huff and Brian Fuentes.

I have a lot of speed on my team, but not a lot of saves.

I have two second basemen: Pedroia and Phillips, so I was wondering if I should do the trade now or ask for a player like Hamilton instead of Cano?

Thanks

Need to know the rest of your team before I can give an educated opinion. Off of what you provided, I dont see the point of doing the trade as is b/c you already have 2 upper caliber 2nd baseman, why get a third? Can your pitching staff stand to lose Lincecum? Need more detail

I kinda like the deal for you, but I'd try to get a better RP than Fuentes.

The deal depends on who you'd have to drop also.

You know its funny, I was checking out your post about Lincecum while I was out at lunch on my phone, but my phone died before I could make a reply...

With that being said, my phone is charging and I'm able to reply now...

As far as your question about Lincecum, I would try to get someone like a Hamilton instead of Cano, since you already have 2 second basemen like you stated.

Thanks for your help on mine, much appreciated! ;-D

I don't think he'd trade me Papelbon, and his only other relievers are Qualls and Heilman. What do you suggest?

I think you can do better than Cano here especially since you already have Phillips and Pedroia at 2B. Try upgrading at a corner infield position--Lincecum has a ton of value in NON-keeper leagues, so his value is increased in a league where a team a top 3 fantasy pitcher year to year. You can get more. Thanks for the help with mine.
