MAJOR BLOCKBUSTER TRADE!!! WHIR!

Postby NikeTxGuy » Wed Jul 14, 2010 4:56 am

I am very curious on two things:

a) How I did on this trade

and

b) If this trade will be overturned by the Yahoo! Trade Review Staff Team.

The trade is this (I proposed the deal, and it was accepted after a few days of the other owner contemplating the offer):

MY Ryan Braun, Michael Young, Roy Oswalt and Jon Lester for HIS Justin Smoak (who I said I would take for him for the last player mentioned from his side), Jason Heyward, Josh Johnson & Tim Lincecum.

One owner from my league said that at first he didn't like the offer, but then after looking at it a bit, he was good with it & he thought it would benefit both teams.

What are YOUR thoughts, Fantasy Baseball Cafe? (Keep in mind, that this IS a keeper league, and we'll probably keep 5 or 6 keepers).

As of right now, if its 5 keepers, it would be this:

Adrian Gonzalez
Evan Longoria
Carlos Gonzalez
Josh Johnson
Tim Lincecum

If its 6 it would be the same five players above plus one of the following three:

Carlos Santana
Jason Heyward
Jacoby Ellsbury
C-Wieters/McCann 1B-Freeman 2B-Johnson 3B-Trumbo SS-Segura OF-CarGo OF-Trout OF-McLouth UT-Arenado UT-Bourn BN:Andrus DL: Stanton

For this season, I think he got the better value. But since it is a keeper league, more importantly, I think you got the better talent long-term out of the deal. ;-D

I think short term he slightly got the better end of the deal b/c he got Braun. Longterm, I think you win if you can hold on to them all.

I dont see this trade being overturned at all. He gets better hitters, you get better pitchers.

Since it's a keeper league, I think that the trade is good for you because it gave you more long-term value.

Please help with mine:

Since it's a keeper league, I think you won out big. Heyward is going to be a stud of epic proportions, while Johnson and Lincecum give you top 5 fantasy pitchers for a long time.

Help with mine?

Oh believe me man, we went back and forth on the trade, from it ballooning to a 3 for 3, to an 8 for 8, to a 5 for 5, then to a 4 for 4... But hopefully the Trade Staff guys at Yahoo! Sports will view this as the same as y'all...
