Hey cafe, i just got offered a deal where I would receive Ian Stewart and Trevor Cahill for my Nick Markakis. I don't mind this proposal, since I would like a depth option at 2b and 3b, and Cahill seems to be alright, but is it enough if Markakis catches fire?
I don't mind this deal. Don't expect Cahill to keep up what he is doing but Markakis is an average OF and it looks like you have pretty decent depth there. So I think I would make that deal.

Do you start Markakis? If so, I would stay put because I am not completely sold on Cahill yet. You already have Zimmerman and Weeks so I do not see the need for Stewart. If you do not start him then it's a toss up and depends on if you need the pitching help. Rolling the dice on Cahill wouldn't hurt in this scenario. Thanks for the help with mine
No, I start Braun, CarGo, and Werth, with Coghlan as my Util with Papi. So in all likelihood, Stewart would be bench, but would provide backup options, something Markakis doesnt really do.

Stewart is meh for me so this deal is essentially Markakis for Cahill. You have plenty of outfield depth and could use some more pitching depth so I would probably do this deal. His stats will probably regress a bit, but he's hardly a fluke as he was a top prospect before last year and has boosted his K's, lowered his walks, is a big time ground ball pitcher and has lowered his homerun rate to an average rate.
Yea, I agree with the majority on the proposal: Take THE DEAL! Markakis has really been a clear disappointment... "a la" Tayshaun Prince in the NBA... GREAT-SEMI WELL KNOWN NAME, but way way overrated.
