Since you said you are in a roto league, Strasburg isn't gonna matter come playoff time and truthfully, you want to get him ASAP to no lose out on any of his innings. Alex Rodriguez is having a really down year in every cat but RBIs, and truthfully, the whole fantasy world needs to realize that he isn't a top 10 guy anymore. Wainwright is absolute stud and by far the best pitcher in baseball over the last calendar year. His splits in the second half last and the first half this year are off the charts. So yeah, if you need pitching (Which it sounds like you do), i'd lock him up immediately. Huff is a slightly above waivers type of player masquerading as a solid starter. Move him while his value is high. We know what Lidge is giving this year, which isn't much, and like you said you have given up on saves, so let someone else pay for his so called talents. Lastly, Gardner is having a monster year. I'm not sure he can keep it up, but he can drop off a long way and still be extremely valuable. Plus, he is young enough that he might just be getting it.

Overall, i'd say do the deal and don't look back. These guys are too high on Alex Rodriguez and too low on your needs. Wainwright is the gem here.

I've got to agree with the dynamite man here.

ARod is certainly having a down year, but he will probably pick it up a bit the second half. That said, I think you're getting the top pitcher to-date, and easily a top 3 pitcher the rest of the way in Wainwright, a guy in Strasburg that will be a top 12 pitcher for the next 2 months, and a great multi-tool SB guy, depending on which you take.

While yes, you're pitching staff looks good - it's hard to say what you need right now without knowing the roto standings. But if you need pitching at all, and could use some SB help, i think this is a no-brainer. You've got more than enough power to make up for Arod's loss.

As for Huff and Lidge, sell high on the first, and get the hell away on the second. I think you'll be hard pressed to find someone who believes much in Huff - get what you can. Lidge sucks, and he'll return to form soon. Unless you're absolutely dying for saves, get rid of him.

ummm..... Kaplow?!?! (Is that how it's done here?)
