Thanks. I was thinking that too but two friends I talk to about this seem to feel it's an even trade. I think it's because they both have no faith in Huff. Still I feel Arod, even with his current average, is worth more then that.... do you think something like Upton in place of arod would even the trade?
I would have to see the rest of your team. I always have a hard time trading a everyday hitter for pitchers because of pitching injuries are more typical. That being said a deal for Wainwright, Strasburg, and Victorino are really appealing for Arod. Huff and Lidge are not much in the deal. I do not trust Lidge for ERA and WHIP. Huff had a good 1st half, but not sure he can repeat it in the 2nd half. At the end of the day I would need to get a better hitter than Victorino for Arod. What is the staff look like that would be getting Wainwright and Strasburg?
I had to abandon Saves as all my relievers bombed this season and none were traded for an even near fair price. I'm about 200 innings behind the max right now.
Strasburg will help you get to the playoffs, but not in the playoffs because his inning limit is 160 (he's at 98 now). I do not like Lidge. Huff has been very good, but it's tough to imagine him keeping this pace up in the 2nd half. A-Rod is the best player in the trade while Wainwright is the ace. Victorino/Gardner will help your OF.
I think this trade comes down to your confidence in Mark Reynolds. If you think he bounces back in the 2nd half, trade A-Rod since Reynolds hits for plenty of power. If you are iffy on Reynolds bumping his average into the .250's, keep A-Rod. Your pitching is not bad.
I would keep what you have. Your pitching is good enough as it is adding Wainwright and Strasburgh would be great, but not necessary. Lester, Price, Nolasco, Jurrjens, and Liriano is a nice top 5 SPs.
I agree...I think you have strong pitching now and the OF help isn't enough...Huff and Kubel should have good second halves. Thanks for the help on mine.
