2nd base / SS help

Postby Jacksonvillezo » Mon Jul 12, 2010 10:47 pm

I have Ryan Theriot on my team currently. I could use his steals, but they have slowed down in the last month with 2. Also, rumors of him becoming part time. I do have Ichiro, Crawford, J.Reyes, and Fowler on my team to pick up the steal loss. On the waiver wire I could pick up O.Cabrera, C.Guillen, Ian Desmond, J.Keppinger, or Starlin Castro to replace him. Should I keep Theriot or drop him for one of the ww people above?

Thanks for the advice on mine...This, also, is a tough one...I would probably lean (reluctantly) towards Ian Desmond...He has a slightly lower BA then Kepp, but more HR and SB with less at-bats...Carlos Guillen is a close second, but for some reason he does not excite me in FBB (and I am a Detroit Tigers fan ;-) However, Desmond is buried at 8th in the Nats batting order, while Guillen is batting 6th behind the often on base Brennan Boesch. I have actually talked myself into thinking that Carlos Guillen will be more productive in the second half...You should go with Carlos Guillen, IMHO...

Bumping this back up. I would like at least one more opinion on this.

Is Asdrubal Cabrera available on the WW as a DL pickup? He should be back in couple weeks and is consistent.I'd take him over any of those except maybe Guillen, who is always an injury risk.

Theriot tends to maintain his avg through the year, so I'd prefer him to the others. I think he's been sitting more because the Cubs are trying to trade Fontenot and want to get him ABs. I'd hang onto him for now. If you really want to drop him, Guillen is boring, if usually consistent. :-)

A. Cabrera is not available. I wish he was. I named the best of the best available. I will stick with Theriot for now and may turn to Guillen based on production in the final week of July. I would like the trade deadline to go by the see if Theriot is starting everyday. Thanks for everyone's help.
